Spitballing

Kansas City has experienced a lot of strange and unnerving events in 2024, and this is the place to discuss them.

Dymuntz could be a he, she, they, whatever. We don't have confirmation on their gender but I'm leaning away from male just based off of conversation.

I think we are being spoon-fed information and we are not expected to have the whole picture presented to us yet.

The nature video and the message behind that may just be letting us know to not take everyone at face value. The clues are presented to us, but we are not expected to have all the answers right away. Just little seeds planted in our minds going forward. A puzzle piece given to us that doesn’t yet have anything to pair up with, or only one or two other pieces. I don’t think we will have the full picture for a very long time.

Spitballing, if Lamia and or Dymuntz are presenting themselves differently than who they are, we may have not met the real them yet.

devotion / deception

many have shown devotion and been brought in closer
some have shown too much devotion and been pushed away

many have been shown deception and have been brought in closer
some have shown too much deception and been pushed away

spitballing here, is defiance next?

You ought to see about adding Texas to the wheel next time. The brisket down there is good any time of day.

Do we know when the photos of the 3 kids were taken in the trailer. And is it a boy and two girls?

posted some screengrabs in the back to the start topic. the classroom scene shows what appears to be 1 boy and two girls, it's a broad assumption based on hair length. timeline of the events in the trailer is unclear

I'm interesting in the creepy poor dirty kids at "school." What kind of weird homeschool is that? And learning by candlelight is rough on the eyes! Also WHO is their teacher??

Also what really happened to Cammie when she was first "exiled"? I know she made art for them or something... But thinking with the new messages, that there is more to this... She took a pledge, and them just came back as if nothing happened.

Did they tell Cammie something about herself that she didn't know?

I want to preface this by saying that I'm not calling anyone a liar.

But I've been seeing all this back and forth about who called who based on the sound of their voice and I can't hep but feel like perhaps there is a Lyre bird at work. Perhaps we can't trust only our ears. But perhaps that also begs the question- what CAN we trust? Especially those of us who rely on the recall and summary of those who saw and felt and stood in their presence.

All of that is to say, there are things we know, things we THINK we know, and things we want to know. But perhaps the only way to actually know is to stop assuming we know anything. Maybe the questions we SHOULD be asking are more existential. "Have I earned the right to know?" "Is now even the time to look for knowing?"

We don't need all the answers right away. In fact, there is frolic in the unknown- a whole world of possibilities to explore and reveal in clever and ceremonious ways. Would you rather watch the movie and be surprised by the ending in a theater surrounded by fellow movie goers or sit online trying to predict the ending as soon as the trailer drops just to stand up in the theater and say you were right all along. There's no prize for being right, is there? It's in our nature to seek knowledge and find patterns, for sure, but there is sort of comfort in accepting that it isn't a race to the finish line. Comedic timing is what makes the joke great after all. I'm happy to wait for the punchline if it means I laugh harder at the joke.

Agreed, here. I don’t know that it’s productive to speculate on whether Dymuntz is telling the truth, etc. She said that she, Lamia, wood witch are not the same person. We have no option but to take what she’s said as fact, and honestly no reason to believe otherwise. Sounds to me like we asked for clarification on identities and it was provided - that’s gonna have to do for now.

^ I do not know ha, but I have been thinking about these kids. Per usual, I’m willing to be wrong and say The Thing anyhow. And I think we may have touched on this somewhere a little?

The original Lamia myth states:

“Lamia was originally a Libyan queen loved by Zeus. When his jealous wife Hera learned of their affair she stole away Lamia's children and the woman, driven mad with grief, tore out her own eyes.”

Let’s leave the eyes thing for now, could this tie in to “take back what was stolen from you?”

looking back, Darren posted an image of the class scene on March 23rd and captioned it "...last night got weird." so one could presume that's when the photos were taken
