Interaction: Standing together

I’ve not had many interactions, but tonight have seen friction and division emerge.

I hate myself that i may have seen this too late, but at the same time I had an interaction:

“ This is entirely of your all making.
You could have joined hands to face the darkness…”

And later

“ United you stand, and we want you to stand tall.”.

To which, the contrarian boy within me challenged, leading to sermon of sorts. Again, themes of materialism, of equity.
Maybe whatever is behind this resents the Hollywood influence, the squabbling for an ‘angle’. We saw that buckets to the universe were approved of…

“Judge someone by how they treat those lowest to them. Judge someone by how they treat the beggar, the cripple, the blind man. Judge someone by how they treat those that can do nothing for them, and you will see the true measure of their soul.”

Hey. So I know many are startled by my response to certain events and interactions and I know I owe an explanation.

Respect the game. Respect the space. Respect the players.

It’s as simple as that.

I may be in my “villain era” and I am not here to hold anyone’s hands. Everyone makes mistakes but OWN THEM. Learn from them. And don’t take it out on innocent bystanders.

Some of us have been here a loooong time, and that’s not a boast, maybe a small badge of honor. As what I’d consider a fully grown adult that has enough experience in this World to vaguely understand how to navigate it - Cammie has been a brilliant participant. Remember, she was very quickly and abruptly separated from our community before she was fully integrated into it. Now that she’s back, she, and ALL of our new friends in Kansas Ctiy are going to need guidance. And they’re all very willing to accept guidance. The reaction to her not posting her call last night…look, she made a mistake, she’ll do that sometimes. Everyone will. With newer members, especially when the broader community is relying on their finite sets of eyes to craft the narrative, we need to allow them bit more grace than some of us old bastards might instinctively want to give.

A dogpile response to a mistake does nothing good, we all know that. I would counsel those of us with more experience to remain cognizant of how the tension we manufacture with our behavior can risk pushing away new participants who genuinely need our support.

Fwiw, I have talked to Campbell privately and that is for once, between me and her.

I appreciate my voice carries weight for some unknown reason. I am as all of you. Trying to find my way, blindly, through an unknown landscape. We all make mistakes.

Sometimes we hold people too closely, sometimes we push them out of the nest too soon. I apologise for any upset I may have caused, but all was done with the best intentions.
