Couple of things…

Had a feeling Maddy wasn’t gonna get a good ending, but I thought they were gonna kill her. Not sure if her true fate is better or worse…

Also, love that Dairy King has accepted his name/title. We love a full circle moment.

Was the tent you were brought into the opulence tent, I wonder? What will become the opulence tent, anyway? Also, curious about the fact that Darren was there. It seems that he has “converted”.

I think Darren was forced to wear that shirt. I would be surprised if he has been converted to anything.

I also think the poor man with the dairy affliction shrugging sounds less like acceptance to my and more like fatalism.

I don't like where this is going, but I have a theory about the Redcurves... They're initiated into the family, they're created and not born into it.

There is a reason I have been calling them carnies on the IG page and this theory is exactly it. They are a group, not a family. They are a cult, not relatives (or at least not all of them.)

Some people get dragged kicking and screaming. Some happily join. Some may be completely brainwashed and THINK they're all in, only to become Cletums.

This is very, very carny. Take it from someone who knows.

It's also very Traveler.

Morning after and I’m still remembering things.

In the tent - Molly had what I believe to be a lollipop in her hands.

Also, everyone in the tent was looking directly at me - except cletums. (I think). He was to my right behind me a little ways, and whilst everyone was staring daggers at me, he didn’t make eye contact.

(Then again, my brain could just be putting in filler material. But I distinctly remember the lollipop)

My theory has been carnies.... hear me out. Don't carnies travel from town to town, fairly anonymously? As we know from real life cases, if or when carnies break the law it's often hard to find them or identify them properly. I'm from Tulsa, OK and here there's a lot of woods on the outskirts of town. The activities in those woods by groups aren't usually hiking groups. More like bootleggers, making drugs, or hate based stuff. You know, stuff you'd hide in the woods to partake.

Seeing some debate on if Madelyn is a Redcurve or not. I'm confused myself a little, but here's the direction I'm leaning in:

when Madelyn was grabbed and shoved on the ground and Dorothea told her to change, he specifically yelled, "You're a fuckin Redcurve now". I have a feeling that there is an actual family called the Redcurves (i.e. Hesta, Dorothea, Frank, Gord, Cletums, Nash, Ernest, etc.....), but that they are also recruiting people into their family.

Kinda like when you're not really related to someone but they consider you part of their family because of the supposed relationship. I think Maddy has been indoctrinated/forced into being a Redcurve.

She was in the process of packing and "leaving" to what I assume was leaving Kansas City because she revealed valuable information to us and held onto valuable information, therefore placing a target on her back. She was going to reveal said information to me before I stupidly not only revealed the address, but also picked a location that was already known by different parties.

Also, Madelyn WOULD NOT COMMUNICATE WITH ME. I HAD TO COMMUNICATE WITH HER THROUGH BRANNIGAN. So when I tried to warn her that Dairy man was already at the location, she would not respond. Also, I feel that the she would have been snagged no matter WHAT location I picked. I say this because Dairy King was already in the DQ when I got there. I'm talking 45-30 minutes earlier than me and Madelyn's agreed meetup time of 8:30. so either she got there way earlier than our agreed time and they snatched her, or they were tailing her this ENTIRE time.

Maybe the leaked script is coming full circle and next a participant will be standing before Madelyn and the script will play out. She's on a path to becoming a Redcurve.

Secondly, was I trying to set her up? No. Did she end up getting grabbed and initiated anyway? Yes. What has happened has happened. I'm sure everyone could go on and on about how they would've done things differently. That's not the point.

I also remember emphasizing that she would not communicate with me firsthand. Additionally, I said that she probably would have been snagged no matter WHAT location I picked because of Dairy King being early, and Madelyn either being there way earlier than our agreed time or her potential (probable) trail of someone following her.

The point is to take what happened from last night, study it and see what we can learn from it.

Felt like I was there to be a witness but also that they were trying to intimidate me. Maddie was terrified and angry. Pissed at me for not helping her, (then again, how could I when she refused to communicate with me?) and also pissed at the redcurves because she definitely did not like what was going on.

Dorothea really didn't like that I thought I was smart/smarter than him.

Just catching up and Maddy’s claim no one helped her reminds me of a story my dad (who was a Sunday School teacher) used to tell:

There’s a huge flood and a man ends up on the roof of his house. But the waters are still rising and he prays to God for help. A big log floats past, but the man decides it is too dangerous to leave his spot on the roof. The waters are still rising. He prays to God again, asking why he hasn’t helped him yet. A large flat piece of wood (maybe a door) floats past, but again, the man decides it is too dangerous to reach for the door. The waters continue to rise and are lapping around his toes. He prays to God one final time, begging for a way off this roof. A lifeboat approaches with people inside. They try to get him to reach out to them, but he says it isn’t safe. As the water finally engulfs him, he cries to God, asking why he has forsaken him and not sent a helicopter…

Sometimes you can’t see the help offered because it’s not what you had in mind…

As I said yesterday, Maddy should’ve known who she was asking to meet - the Elites have always had their eyes on Campbell. What happened last night was inevitable and I’m actually really impressed by Cammie and Bran working together the way they did - I know it didn’t work but I think it was really clever.
