[Work In Progress]

I'd paint with my blood if they gave me a knife. Alizarin crimson is a weak substitute.

black balaclava
soon to fade
on the edges
threads of grey

even rocks
erode away
we all expire
but our stories stay

We fade to grey and only shadowed memories will remain,
Where once we did unite and laugh, and dance out in the rain,
But now you start to understand; the edge brings mostly pain,
One day you won't gaze at a world that’s all aboard the train.

That’s why it’s so important that you strengthen what you’ve built,
The chains that broke or bonded you, tested regret and guilt,
For once the final sunset and the drops of blood are spilt,
Your memories are where we’ll still dance, under the starlight quilt.

opie you've done it again and created another masterpiece, how DARE you have a good way with words (I'm jealous). You've created something magical... a distraction from the chaos of the "real world". I'm not ready for this to end and to have to face the horrors that lie beyond.

Everything has become devastating since Saturday. :,) Including these poems.

Haven’t stopped crying since then. ✌️
It’s not over yet, but jeezums.
Wonderfully put words from the both of you regardless.

This comfort stings a bit don’t it? At least its better than feeling nothing at all.. i think.

I created some prose somewhat based on my opinion of Hesta :

Tears came streaming down her face
Created out of pure disgrace
Life had become a constant living hell.
Restless and lonely
She's leaving this place
Running away like its some kinda race
Cause no one cares enough for her to tell.

Sugar could'a would'a cause a tingle on the tongue,
(Shame the Carnival is barred if you're a little young,)
Spin until the structure rips apart into a floss,
Home in time for hot dogs and some stare downs with the boss.

I don't usually rhyme so have patience on some of these. Poems on characters that stand out to me.

Milkman

Cream fingers on the back of my neck
Pull me to sterile and spotless safety
Only white snow slips down my throat
I've been choking in color lately.
Pristine, untouched like the coat of the lamb
If my food is spoiled then foul I am.

Buck

Big broad brain bent burning into books
Sweat and slick salt-sticky stains
Rumbling laugh that sticks like hooks
An outlier of more pleasure than pain

Frank

Swagger and swank with a boyish grin
Bottles hiding blood, thick nectar and gin
Warm-touch hands and a gaze disconnected
Poison seeps in, heart already disinfected

Hesta

Heady giggles and her golden hair
Mask trepidation at the slip of her smirk
Sugar coils, a lowered glare
Let's pray her second blood run works!

Handlers

Sweet Molly and sinewy Maddy
Grip fiery Izzy and floating Stevie
Cold caress and flying hair
Like they are the same person, like they have never met each other, like looking in a mirror.
Flowers in pockets next to blades next to glass
Truth yet realism around them wraps
A genetic stare like cold water arterial
And the trees greet their climb like the soil greets blood.

Dorothea

Heaving
huffing
Lumbering and scuffing

Solid eyes that light white and wide
when his neices come a-runnin’

Sweaty arms that feel like home
or a gritting victim’s last view

Through stories he shares
What feels like everything
but so, so few secrets with you

opulens

Structured shine with no click click click
Darts between walls like quicksilver
Rolling behind me silent and slick
Only a breath breeze of vetiver

Suffocated lungs annunciate breath
I hope and vie never to hear
The pounding of my boots passing the edge
And saturnine scuffling at my heels

Try as one shall to peel back the dark
Fabric is flesh is human within
Still I turn casting light, I heave and I hark
In the absence of flash sounds only a CLICK

Only a breath breeze of vetiver

vet·i·ver
noun: vetiver; noun: vetivert
a fragrant extract or essential oil obtained from the root of an Indian grass, used in perfumery and aromatherapy.
People take vetiver for nerve and circulation problems and for stomach pain.

Flattered? Well done though, a thorough set.

Blessings.

I wanted to share a piece of myself and what I wrote for Hesta's lil honey trap.

. . .
A Letter To Me

Dear darling,
I'm aware of the secrets you hide.
I know that deep inside
You may think of yourself
in black and white
and you may judge yourself
unfavorably.

You call yourself
hostile names,
and you may believe
too much bad
of your mind and heart.

Sometimes you may think
you're undeserving of love,
because you feel awful
and difficult and strange.

You may give yourself
A million excuses
to explain why
the world,
your friends,
and family
are too gentle with you.

But darling,
let me tell you
how I actually see you.

I understand the need
to berate yourself,
but let me share a sweet secret:
nobody is perfect.

And I've learned to see
that living between
my black and white,
my good and bad,
are so many shades of grey,
and a myriad of beautiful colors.

Every time you smile,
and every time you give
of yourself,
it makes you
who you are,
which is perfectly
imperfect
and strikingly attractive
in its very own way.

Please,
Dearest darling,
Don't call yourself
those nasty names.

I don't believe
you are terrible.
I am sorry
you feel that way,
about yourself.

We are all comprised
of black and white,
good and bad.

Instead of placing
your primary focus
on blaming yourself
and roller-coaster guilt-trips,
look me in the eyes,
and when will tell you
again and again,
just how beautiful,
inspiring and strong
your heart truly is.
I love you
Just the way you are.

Yes, including those ups and downs.
Ins and outs.
Beliefs and doubt.

And maybe,
just maybe,
because of it.

Dear darling,
You're perfectly imperfect.
Love yourself
and treat yourself
As well as you
Do others.
. . .
