Checkpoint - Back to Cooking with Gas

This started with me trying to go back and look for relevant information to make some connections with what we know now and has since spiraled into me fully overhauling an older post that blondie made when we were told to go back to the start and opulens seemed to like this approach, so brace yourselves for an info dump. Also this is by no means comprehensive, please add more info that sticks out as relevant, I just thought now would be a good time to take a step back and start looking at the bigger picture and all the info we have so far. Hopefully this is for the most part things that we actually know and not things that I am assuming but maybe I can put this into a google document or something that we could edit a bit easier to add or remove information as we want since that is not really easy to accomplish here.
Also something that I think is worth looking into that I was doing before I started working on this was gathering all of the information about the different belief systems of the various groups and if I have time maybe I will make a part 2 that is a bit more focused on that in this thread but just spent way more time on this than I should have so I'll put this out there first and see what I have time for after.
WHO?
The Elites
- A group of mysterious people with a wheel as seen in the Pink Socks leaked messages
- opulens - oversees the forum, has access to the Exiled IG account, met with participants at 7/28 event wearing a balaclava to obscure identity, always busy, likes rocks and cryptic messages
- Dymuntz- ”assigned” to at least Haley and Campbell, when assigned to Dymuntz it seems communication with opulens is cut off, has access to the Exiled IG account and an administrator account on forum
- Lamia, the Woman in Black - met with Cammie and Matt in the woods, has made calls to participants, seen and heard in IG reels, acts in control, appears well off (clothes, money, etc)
- Suited staff, inc. Cottage Cheese Man - documenting in person interactions with polaroid's and video cameras
- Barefoot guy - Always seen around the Redcurves almost acting like a supervisor or bodyguard around them, clearly there with a purpose although what that is is unclear
The Redcurves
- Owned the haunt in the 1950s but were driven out of their land and Exiled to the woods in the 1980s
- Dislike pretty much all of modern society and do not really have access to technology, they were borrowing access from the Elites to use Instagram
- They are family that lived in the woods from the rhyme and they have returned to Kansas to reclaim what is theirs
- Made a deal with the Elites and a pact to adhere to "The old ways"
- Dorothea - Head of the family, chose Kansas city as the location or target of the elites
- Cletums - son of Dorothea, great dancer, has fucked up with *something* and may not have much longer
- Lily - seems important and has contacted participants, had an entire Instagram post introducing her although I still don't think we have much info
- There are many more of them as seen in many images and trailers all across the Exiled Instagram page
- Children - We still don't know too much about the children overall but some of the kids from the early images showed up in pictures with the redcurves so it is assumed that at least some of them are Redcurves
Witches
- Believed to also be redcurves but significant enough to have their own category imo
- Tree Mask Woman - seen in trailer, met by several participants in person at 7/28 event, really doesn’t like selfishness, has since been freed from the Elites thanks to a game of pool
- The Elites were said to have "plenty of other witches" when the release
- Hecate - lots of info in this post viewtopic.php?p=1229&hilit=hecate+Hekate#p1229 Credits to blondie and wanda
- Blondie - our favorite witch, performed a ritual calling upon Hecate to strengthen the Tree Witch, possibly now in the coven and we're all excited about it
Others
- Important to the goals of the elites and the redcurves but most of these people/factions seem to be in the dark on things or afraid of what is coming
- Dan, owner and creator of Exiled: Trail of Terrors - was in control of IG feed until it was taken over and his posts removed, present at all 3 in person events, has seemed in turn excited and enthusiastic, dejected, hostile, on the outside, now working for if not with…
- Dan’s Exiled staff: Pink Socks, Red Laces, Backpack (from previous interactions - this is pretty much a dead end)
- "Hollywood”, ie Darren Lynn Bousman, director of horror movies and creator of immersive experiences, and Morgan Rooms, as 111experience creating immersives for the rich and famous - Darren seems absolutely terrified and has recently been going through a bit of an existential crisis
- The rest of us - fond of red string and spaghetti, overall good time but with a reputation for being mostly clueless and digging oddly shaped holes to the amusement of opulens
VS/Maddie
- Clearly upset by what is going on with the takeover of the haunt
- Seems to be trying to do something about it by making posts on the forum warning us and hacking the Instagram account to post something taking shots at DLB/Morgan
- Has been silent recently after threatening to get louder with their claims on the forum
WHAT?

WHERE?
- Kansas City, chosen by Dorothea
- Crooked Rose Woods
- The Redcurves cabin
WHEN?
- ARG portion: July onwards
- In person haunt: September 13th - November 2nd
HOW?
- “The method”, alchemy, chosen by the wheel as seen in the leaked messages
- Message spread through participants doing “missionary” work
- Communicate with participants via phone calls, text messages, IG (including DMs), forum (including DMs), Facebook, TikTok, sometimes appear in dlbCU Discord (Morgan + opulens)
- In person events for KC natives
The Deal
- A contract was signed between the Elites and the Redcurves agreeing to give the Redcurves back their land
- Multiple participants were there to "Bear Witness" to the signing of this contract but were also told by Darren that this was "All for show"
The Old Ways
- "These aren't mere traditions but dark, unspeakable rituals; acts that defy the natural order and call upon forces best left undisturbed."
3 Levels of the Haunt
- Level 1 the trail
- Level 2 the Midway ft. The Redcurves
- Level 3 The OPULENCE Tent ft. The Elites
WHY?
- For the Redcurves it seems the driving force is doing what's best for their family and reclaiming their land
- For the Elites it has been made clear that they are doing this partly to adhere to the "Old Ways"
This is where a lot is still left unknown though
- Why do they want to use the old ways?
- Clearly Hecate is involved but are there other entities/deities at play that they plan on calling upon?
- Why do they want to call upon them/what are their end goals?
- Will there be dairy products to consume at the haunt?
- What do these rituals actually entail and what role do we play in all of this?
- Is the Exiled staff/VS planning something to try to take the haunt back and put a stop to all of this?
