In a very boiled down version (because it is 2:30 in the morning and I am eepy), the finale went as follows:
We (me and several other participants) were pulled into the chapel area at the end of the trail, and we sit down. A bunch of the redcurves are there, some sitting in the pews, some arriving as we are sitting.
The wood witch is standing near the altar, Maddy is near the altar.
They get everyone seated, and Cletums is brought up via Julian and Lazarus up the trail near the front of the pews next to the altar. Cletums has on
opulens’ balaclava.
Julian and Lazarus are holding Cletums as he deathstares several of us. Dorothea comes up and acknowledges his son and is visibly distraught.
Maddison appears there too.
Dorothea and Lily approach the altar. dorothea is crying. Lily grabs a knife, and is about to sacrifice herself.
Maddy intervenes, and says she will sacrifice herself instead. Dorothea is holding back Lily from sacrificing herself.
Maddy grabs the knife, then the wood witch takes the knife and sacrifices herself via bleeding out from a long cut down her forearm.
Suddenly in the trees, there's voices. They are saying things like, “lily, dorothea, my love”.
it's Rose. Dorothea acknowledges that.
As they are crying, they get led back into the forest, listening to rose's voice.
The wood witch is dead on the ground, and maddy is crying over her corpse.
Lazarus rips the balaclava off of Cletums.
Maddison takes blood from the wood witch and walks away with it.
Cletums is taken by Mack, who tells him “the forest will take you in.” some of the redcurves are brought back into the forest.
We are told to leave down the trail, and we enter back into the carnival to say our goodbyes to everyone.

Good summary. I wrote something out but think I need to sit with my thoughts for a while.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo. My heart is absolutely breaking. I don’t know what I wanted to happen… I’m glad Lily survived but my beloved sister witch is gone and I’m devastated. Poor Maddy. I just… I don’t know what else to say. Crying in the airport.

Yeah, it was heartbreaking. But at least the Redcurves were able to, as Rose was saying, "come home".
I may have more thoughts later, but this is a pretty good summary, and much of what I experienced outside of the finale was just for me.

Wow what an intense ending! I’m sad that the witch had to sacrifice herself but it sounds like the Redcurves are finally home. Poor Cleatums and Dorothea I can’t imagine how they were feeling during all this along with everyone else. My heart really goes out to the Redcurves, they’ve been through so much.

I saw Lazarus over by the wood witch, I'm not sure who said it, but it was said we got what we needed, did anyone actually see what Lazarus was doing? Or are we assuming what we could only possibly believe he would have been doing. I don't believe she is dead, as She was coughing while laying there. He had a vile and I swear something was already in it when he walked over to her. Could be the shadowing effect of the forest and lights and I was trying so hard to watch that scene unfold over everything else. I don't think this is the last of the wood witch. At least I'm hoping it's not. I would like to see her story unfold more.

Here is my belief of what the Elites were doing all along, based on my long interrogations of Maximilian and Pia's fantastic investigations.
The Elites basically used Cletums. He felt that Dorothea didn't respect him and that left him a target for them to promise him friendship. That was why he was missing often, and why he talked about "trusting someone".
I think Cletums was made a new vessel to bring opulens back one last time to trigger what the Elite were wanting all along--to be able to gather the power they wanted. Hopefully Pia will chime in and explain what she found out as it fills out a lot of this section on how and what power exactly they were gathering.
But Lazarus did indeed hover over the witch and gathered something (probably blood) on a vial. The Elites were then given that and left to their tent where I could hear them chant.
Effectively, I think the Elites gave the Redcurves the land so they could take all the energy gathered by the event and use it to continue their power. Because I think that's their ultimate goal--gather energy so they can use that energy to literally maintain their power. Cycle and repeat.

The witch was revived. Despite her hate for the Elites, Lazarus showed kindness. She was revived from the vial taken from Cletums.

So then if that's the case, I wonder what happened to that talk of one of the elites, iirc twas Maddison, drinking the vial of life or whatever it was called. Maybe there's enough for multiple people? Or maybe Lazarus is simply that nice/respected amongst the elites.

I think the Elites WANT the land to continue. Maximilian was very clear that they could do this again and again.
So it may not be that "death" is required. It may just be that when enough power from everyone coming to the carnival/haunt was infused in the land, the Elites could tap a bunch of it off to make that elixir.
Like a vampire with a blood pool. You take SOME from them but you don't take all of you lose your source. You take some, let them heal, then come back and do it again.

That's what I figured. There was something already in the vial and I knew she was still alive. Just hadn't put the two together yet. Her story continues for sure.Caboose04 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 10:59 pmI did find out the Witch is not dead.KAYLYN wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 12:17 pmcampbellstruts wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 2:38 am In a very boiled down version (because it is 2:30 in the morning and I am eepy), the finale went as follows:
