After much deliberation, I think I've come to the conclusion that I need to post the ritual Dorothea gave me. I was told by [redacted for safety] that Dorothea and the Witch trusted me, and [redacted for safety] was glad I wasn't easily accessible to the elites. Here's the thing, though. I want to go back. I want to go back to try and save Madelyn. I hope this catches the attention of someone who can help me get back.

I give you: the ritual

and my best transcription of it:

When the moon wax full, and the ancient winds do whisper through [illegible], the sacred rite shall commence. For it is upon this hallowed soil in the cradle of the Forest, that blood must Flow to make the slumbering spirits that govern fortune and FATE. The blood of unblemished by willingness, becometh the sacred thread that bindeth the lineage of mortals to the roots of the earth deepening their bond to the eternal woodland.

Amongst the spirits lies [illegible], goddess [illegible]. Yet as opulence oft doth, it can corrupt even a goddess [illegible]. The corrupted Old God, seizing upon [illegible] greed, intent on spreading this corruption to its utmost limits.

The Ritual of cutting and offering. The cut must be deliberate, neither too shallow to offend the spirit nor too deep to squander the gift. A blade no longer than six inches shall be drawn from the wrist to palm, ensuring the flow of blood remaineth steady and pure. As (???) falleth upon the forest floor, it nourisheth the earth’s yearning roots, which twist and spread beneath the soil in search of nourisheth of sustenance. The proper amount of [illegible] determined not by mortal hand but by the spirits. One must continue until the pulse of nature aligneth with the (???) of (???)

Adornment and preparation of the body.

The Chosen [illegible] must don garments the hue of soil and autumn (???). Hair shall be unbound, a symbol of their spirit entering freely with the land. A garland of forest herbs and woven branches shall be a crown (???) the spirits acknowledge her as their own. About the neck must be a thread of iron. For it both wardeth of unwanted forces and remindeth the bearer of the weight of duty.

The process of observing:

The [illegible] stands barefoot upon the forest floor, feeling the pulse of the earth beneath. Begin by (???) the names of the nearest trees, calling upon them to witness sacrifice as the cut is made and blood spills upon the soil. An incantation must be recited offering the life blood to the Old gods including [illegible], beseeching their favor upon kin. Each drop anchors Fortune into the roots of the forest, while Shadow [illegible] corruption lingers. A reminder that happiness, when refracted through a lens of jealousy, becomes a curse rather than a blessing.;

I have a bad feeling about this.

what's the name of the tent level 3 participants go into? the OPULENCE tent. And as opulence often does, it can corrupt even an Old God or Goddess.

The Why: To spread corruption (i'm tired so disregard) and to bring about more Chaos.

There’s not much here that has me particularly concerned. Pretty standard stuff. Shadow work is as important as the “white” magic, because it’s all about balance. And not shying away from the negative aspects of existing… greed, corruption, jealousy.

The use of shorthand is interesting. Feeds into the “power in a name” thinking. Like there’s not much that can be done with that paper falling into the wrong hands because the names (as well as the blood obvs) are what have power.

I really, really, really think it's a bad idea to be saying the names of any Gods or spirits in any ritual.
If they can be corrupted, and the Elites are an a priori reason that they will be...
well, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

A few of us were discussing but it looks like this needs to be brought to light: There was a theory brought up recently how the elites and the redcurves might be two groups fighting for the same goal, and that they are potentially working together. Something about them needing a vessel, and the word vessel was brought up multiple times.

It is my opinion that the bloodletting mentioned in the contract as well as the mentioning of a vessel, pictured below, is very indicative of the two groups potentially working together, especially considering lex's ritual that was passed down to them by dorothea.

Quotations for those struggling to read: "no less than 7 pints of human blood [be spilled onto the ground] - (bottom of page one, named covenant of blood rites). The next states: "... As the ancient deities feast on there being, leaving behind only a hollow vessel for the spirits to inhabit" - (top of page two, 21.02 'offering of self')

What is everyone's thoughts on this?

I have a feeling that whatever happened to Madelyn is somehow tied to the elites. This legal document speaks about the possibility of someone losing "...mind and soul to the rituals..." and their "...identity, memories, and very essence..." essentially 'getting gimmied', "...leaving behind only a hollow vessel..."

I wanted to add that the story of how the Redcurves lost their land and how ZipKC lost their land are strikingly similar:
- both created haunted houses
- both came under financial hardship
- both were run off or pushed aside, (in ZipKC's instance, for something better).
