Kevin mentioned in his post that something happened to Lazarus a year ago. Last night I walked away with another piece of the puzzle.
While in the Opulence tent, Sebastian leaned in close and began talking to me in hushed tones.
“Do you know how I got my job as emcee?”
I shook my head.
“Maddison used to be emcee.” He began, looking over at Maddison. “She was fired and I got the job. I’m a better emcee anyhow. You know she killed opulens last host, Jennifer, in Paris.”
“Why did she kill opulens host?”
“Her life was in danger.”
I caught myself staring at Maddison from across the tent. The music was playing and everyone was dancing, having a great time celebrating Dymuntz’s birthday but I felt like I was frozen in time, my mind racing with questions.
Some time later, I found myself near Maddison, and she approached me.
“I didn’t kill Jennifer. It was Lazarus.”
“I heard your life was in danger?”
“More than one. More than one.” She repeated. “And I’m going to get the elixir of life. I’m still the head bitch here. It’s mine.” (I am 99% sure she said life and not light, just thought I’d make a note.)
After the Opulence tent, I waited for an opportunity to speak with Lazarus. I spotted him in the Midway and wasted no time.
“Lazarus! I heard you saved Maddison’s life. Was it opulens or the host who was a threat to Maddison?”
“It was Jennifer.”
Before I could respond, he was off.
I have another opportunity tonight to try to get answers… but I can’t help but wonder what really happened. My heart aches for Lazarus.
What Happened to Lazarus?

Wow. This is amazing.
Seeing how being a vessel for opulens affected Morgan… I can understand how a host may lose touch, may fracture, may break…
I still hold fast to my “no bad guys” point of view. Poor Lazarus. I hope that in it coming to light, he can start to move past what he had to do, because it clearly weighs very heavily on him.
